Samsung Galaxy S8+ Teardown

iFixit have opened up another can of hot, techy beans with the latest from Samsung's flagship - the Galaxy S8+

"Exploded" view...

Almost the words biggest smartphone with a 6.2-inch, dual-edge, Super AMOLED display with 2960 × 1440 resolution, it's not easy to underestimate the potential pocket size issue.

Cosmetically appealing with an almost featureless front panel - the home button has been replaced by a pressure sensitive pad that lives under the screen. Although, there is a fingerprint sensor that has moved, too far 'round the back.

the S8+ manages to pack a 6.2" display in about the same form factor as the 5.5" S7 Edge.

It's not a Note7! However, the battery is almost identical. Since the Note7, Samsung have improved their battery testing procedures - this is good news for Galaxy 8+ fans because this battery is the same 13.48 Wh (3500 mAh at 3.85 V) battery the Note7 shipped with, this capacity is still a winner over the iPhone 7 Plus, dropping a 11.1 Wh (2900 mAh at 3.82 V).

For those of us who'll want to keep a keen eye on #repairability - iFixit gave it an astoundingly low score of 4 out of 10 - 1 being the hardest to repair, 10 being the easiest.
